Just to let you know, reversing the 24vac leads off the secondary of the transformer seems to have corrected the
problem I was having with that replacement control board in my york/luxaire furnace. Near as I can tell, everything
seems to be working as it should now. Thank You very much, I hope to take the time to write you a testimonial
sometime in the near future. Its one thing to help me find the proper replacement control board when the original is
no longer manufactured, its quite another when you get (and give) me outstanding technical assistance when things
don't work as they should. And fast, I mean, I emailed you that night and you called me with the fix the next morning.
I've been around the block enough times to know, a person doesn't come across someone of your caliber everyday.

Dave -The power supply is working great. Someone had already done the conversion to add an air flow switch. The kit and parts were easy to put together.Just had to upgrade the neon operating light to an LED.

Hi Dave –
A quick note to tell you that the old furnace runs again! The belt arrived yesterday and I got it put in last night. It was a bit of a struggle to get the belt completely around the pump pulley but in the end I was able to weasel it in place. I gave it a quick power check (about a second) with the inspection plate off and the ignition transformer disconnected from its power and everything seemed to turn properly. The actual first fire up of the furnace didn’t happen for about half an hour while I put the rest of the pieces back in place and tidied up the mess giving the unburned squirt of oil a chance to flash off and clear. It came up cleanly – it let it run for about 15 minutes and then turned the thermostat down to cycle it off. I got it fixed just in time – the last of the good Fall weather has moved out and the snow that was in the Dakotas has moved in to the Twin Cities. The dragon (as I like to call it) should be good for several more years now.

Hi Dave, I just wanted to let you know that the motor OBM-1725RPM was a perfect match for my old Lima. (Specs below in green) So if you ever run across this motor again you will know you have a match. The only problem was like you said, it doesn't have the screw threads for the transformer to attach. That's no bid deal, I just used some large wire straps I have that should work fine. Also the motor was easy to reverse the direction with a two wire terminal swap. I'm glad that was the case since I forgot all about the direction problem with all my other worries. I just thought you would like to hear that. Thanks for your help,

Man - I was netting all over the USA just to find a simple $30 part and nobody could even hint at a "I need it now" scene. Even ******* said "two to three weeks"..
Then I run across furnaceparts.com (that's a hot domain - keep it!!) and you are essentially right down the street.
I will order - but send to my work addy in Redmond as there will be someone to sign for it if I am not here
I am placing the order now - and taping a print of your homepage in the crawlspace next to the (dead) furnace.

I’m not sure if you remember me, but I’m the guy who placed the orders Sunday afternoon, December 2nd, for the York furnace parts, and you called and spent quite a bit of time helping and counseling me. (Order #s 17872, 17873, 17877).
UPS brought the circuit board and limit switch late Tuesday, and I went to work replacing them. It looks like you were right, and the circuit board was the problem. I was able with your telephone counseling to replace the board in a short period of time and get the furnace working again. It appears to be working great now, better than ever, in fact. It may not seem like a big deal to you, you probably talk to dumb homeowners like me every day who need your professional expertise, but I wanted you to understand how much it meant to me to have your help.
I have been unemployed, involuntarily, for the past year. I am getting ready to deploy overseas with the US Army, and need to sell my house. Of all the lousy timing, suddenly my furnace goes on the fritz during a stormy weekend with cold weather approaching. With limited funds, all the stress I could already take, and the time and pressure of the upcoming move, your patience and professionalism with me on a Sunday afternoon was a Godsend, Dave.
You helped me through what for you was probably a routine maintenance issue, but, for me, it was a major crisis. I’m an old computer geek, so I can deal with small electrical boards all right, but once I opened up that furnace I was way over my head. I had no real good starting point and really wasn’t in a position to call in a technician on a Sunday and pay premium fees that I don’t have. You spent a great deal of your time and several telephone calls leading me through, diagnosing what you could over the telephone and through email photos (at least I knew how to take digital pictures!), and gave me a good chunk of your Sunday afternoon. You even advised me to cancel the orders for parts I didn’t need to help save me money I didn’t need to spend. I deeply, deeply appreciate your help. Not only did you gain a loyal customer from wherever I am in the world, but your business will be the first one I recommend to anybody who needs HVAC parts.
I am most grateful for your help, Dave. You are a true customer-oriented professional, and I thank you.

Dave you would like to know that following your advice I called a certified technician to take care of my furnace. Since my furnace is a 1982 vintage they always try to selll me a new system claiming that parts are not available for my system. I am close to 80 years old in fix income and try to survive taking care of what I have. I begged the man to at least disconnect the pilot and check if it was plug. He reluctantly did that and found the pilot opening pluged, but he added that the plugged nozzle was not available an insisted in a new system. Following your advice we used some alcohol that immediately clear the nozzle. He charged me $70 dollars that I happily paid to him, but the real hero is you with your advice. I would like to thank you again for your help. I may not be in your computer but two to three years ago a bought that electronic furnace card from you. The reason that I know is because your web page was still in my computer. Have happy Christmas.

Thanks for the information and suggested action. I ordered some strainers and a couple of extra filter elements this evening.
Hopefully they can be shipped along with the nozzles.
Also, the Guide to Residential Oil Heating is very nicely done. It filled in some important gaps in my knowledge base. Good reference.
